Welcome to The Serengeti
Welcome to Tanzania! You'll be greeted at Kilimanjaro airport before a private transfer to our hotel.
Then, meet Chris Fallows, your Expedition Leader, and your fellow adventurers, setting the stage for your journey.
The journey truly begins with a dinner Q&A with Chris. Delve into what drives Chris and his passion for conservation in Africa, and how he uses photography as a tool. It's the perfect time for group questions.
Finally, it's time to rest up in your accommodation, recharging for the adventures that await.
Let the adventure begin
After breakfast it's time for the adventure to start.
We'll take private transfers to the airport before boarding a flight to our first stop, Dunia Camp.
Dunia Camp will be our home for the first 3 nights. Staying in Luxury Safari Tents Dunia Camp is famous for being the first all female camp in Africa.
We can expect the safaris to showcase the wildebeest herds as they journey south through the central Serengeti towards the southern plains. Occasional refreshing rain showers, welcoming hundreds of migratory bird species and other captivating wildlife. After the dry season, these conditions revitalise the savannahs with a picturesque lush green hue.
The search for Big Cats
After breakfast we're off to the vast and remote grasslands of the eastern Serengeti.
Namiri Camp will be our home for the next 3 nights. Staying in Luxury Safari Tents Namiri Camp is best known for it's location and luxury experience.
This is big cat country. We can expect the safaris to showcase the majestic big cats such as lion, cheetah, and leopard, and sometimes the smaller serval and caracal. There is an abundance of plains game enjoying the grasslands and keeping the predator population well-fed. If we're lucky this time of the year we could witness the Great Migration.
Wild, unexplored, untouched.
After breakfast we're off to the Usangu Wetlands in Ruaha.
Situated beyond the high-water mark under the shade of miombo woodlands, Usungu Camp will be home for our final 4 nights.
Enjoy game drives along the river and through forested regions in search of big cats, elephant, giraffe, and sable and roan antelope, or head out on foot to explore the dry seasonal floodplains and better understand the importance of the Usangu Wetlands. Evenings bring breathtaking sunsets across the park, while a delicious and wholesome dinner is prepared over the open campfire.
All things must end
After breakfast we'll take a private transfer for our flight back to Julius International Airport.
Our final night accommodation Sheraton Dar es Salaam.
Sadly it's time to say goodbye. We'll spend our final night enjoying stories of the trip as well as Chris running a masterclass on photo editing.
Transfers to the airport the final morning are included.

“Thanking the stars I found Airguides and Jono's trip. We were totally taken care of! Paul answered all our questions and took care of the details so all we had to do was get there. Jono Allen is an amazing, talented photographer who created a special group experience. The WHALES were mind blowing. What a gift to be in Tonga staring into the eye of a baby whale! This trip was a lifelong dream come true. I highly recommend it so much we’ve already signed up again for next year!"
"The Airguides trip to Tonga to swim with humpback whales was the experience of a lifetime. I have traveled all over the world, and nothing compares to being in the wild, rustic, deep blue waters of the South Pacific while interacting with whales and their calves. A wonderful and caring team made our adventures stress free. Absolutely amazing, so much so, that I am doing it again this year! Thanks a million Paul, Jono, Al, Alistair, Christian and Polly!"
"Thank you for your help in putting together our trip to the Northern Territory. Everyone agreed that it was the best family holiday we'd ever had and - even better - everyone nominated something different as 'the best thing'."
