Join Martin Gregus for an adventure to Earth’s last untouched wilderness, Antarctica. This expedition is designed for travellers looking to experience the wonders of Antarctica like the true explorers of years past. Forget sipping champagne from a luxury cruise ship, we’ll explore parts of Antarctica only available to smaller vessels. This expedition is as close to carbon-neutral and low-impact as we can possibly be.
Throughout this trip, participants will be given the opportunity to delve into the fundamentals of nature and wildlife photography and photo editing with Martin Gregus. The trip will also host a variety of masterclasses and talks delivered by Martin and your Expedition Leader. This expedition promises a truly unique and once in a lifetime adventure with a true master of his craft.
We’ll sail a 19-meter steel sailboat from Patagonia, cross the Drakes Passage before spending 5 weeks exploring Antarctica and its wildlife. The goal is to photograph Orcas hunting Weddle Seals, but we’re also hoping to see wildlife such as Leopard Seals, Penguin colonies, Humpback super pods and many more.
Our permits allow us to land on mainland Antarctica and do activities like snow shoeing, camping and cross country skiing. This is simply not possible on larger cruises.
His journey with photography started at the age of 7 and rapidly evolved after moving to Canada in 2004, where he received his first camera. Martin's keen eye sees patterns and movements in landscapes that many overlook, capturing the beauty of ordinary scenes and once-in-a-lifetime moments. His work tells the story of our planet, filled with detail, natural dynamics, and a creative transformation of nature into visual art.
As the youngest member of the Gregus Creactive Group, Martin has honed his skills in wildlife photography, often using custom equipment, remote cameras, and camera cars to capture the perfect shot. His talent has been recognised globally, with accolades from prestigious contests like the Wildlife Photographer of the Year and publications in National Geographic, Canadian Geographic, and BBC Wildlife Magazine.
Martin's contributions to the field extend beyond photography. He has exhibited his documentary and street photography, delivered presentations, led youth camps, and now operates as a Director of Photography and drone pilot with Avia Eye. His collaborations with Photo Fabrica and Matko Pictures continue to bring exceptional visual stories to life.
Martin's philosophy is simple yet profound: adventure awaits when you're willing to jump for it. His work not only showcases the splendor of wildlife and nature but also inspires a deeper appreciation and understanding of our planet’s diverse habitats.

“Thanking the stars I found Airguides and Jono Allen's trip. We were totally taken care of! Paul answered all our questions and took care of the details so all we had to do was get there. Jono is an amazing, talented photographer who created a special group experience. The WHALES were mind blowing. What a gift to be in Tonga staring into the eye of a baby whale! This trip was a lifelong dream come true. I highly recommend it so much we’ve already signed up again for next year!"

Yes. We can arrange one-way or return charter flights to avoid sailing Drakes Passage. The trip has been scheduled to make it possible to be home for Christmas.
Cost of flights is approximately US$5,000 each way.
We have a huge freezer on board where we keep all kinds of good things. Since we are in cold weather, fresh fruits and veggies can last until the end of the trip. Meals on board have a home-feeling and we try to keep a very varied menu. If you have food allergies / restrictions we can usually adapt.
Make no mistake, this trip is designed for adventure travellers. While every effort is made to ensure guest comfort, this trip is not a luxury experience. The goal of this expedition is to take you to places in Antarctica not possible any other way due to disease restrictions. Larger boats aren't permitted to land and explore the mainland of Antarctica. We recommend contacting our team to discuss suitability prior to booking.

"The Airguides trip to Tonga to swim with humpback whales was the experience of a lifetime. I have traveled all over the world, and nothing compares to being in the wild, rustic, deep blue waters of the South Pacific while interacting with whales and their calves. A wonderful and caring team made our adventures stress free. Absolutely amazing, so much so, that I am doing it again this year! Thanks a million Paul, Jono, Al, Alistair, Christian and Polly!"
"Thank you for your help in putting together our trip to the Northern Territory. Everyone agreed that it was the best family holiday we'd ever had and - even better - everyone nominated something different as 'the best thing'."
