Meet Martin Gregus

From the frozen Arctic to the open wilderness, Martin captures the raw beauty of our planet's most extreme places.

Martin Gregus grew up in Bratislava, Slovakia, in a household full of artists. He learned photography from his father and was exploring local wildlife with a camera before most kids had decided what they wanted to do with their lives. The hundreds of National Geographic magazines stacked around his home did the rest.

After moving to Canada at age seven, Martin's world expanded fast. He started seeing patterns and movements in landscapes that most people overlook, turning ordinary scenes into once-in-a-lifetime images. As the youngest member of the Gregus Creative Group, he pushed himself further with custom equipment, remote cameras, and camera cars to get shots others couldn't.

Nineteen years later, his work has taken him across all seven continents and some of the most remote ecosystems on the planet. He's earned two wins and two nominations at Wildlife Photographer of the Year, and his 2022 polar bear project, 33 Days Among the Bears, became an international story after National Geographic coverage. His cinematography has since contributed to productions for Disney, BBC, and Netflix.

Martin's philosophy is simple: adventure awaits when you're willing to jump for it. His work doesn't just showcase wildlife, it inspires a deeper understanding of the places and creatures he photographs.
