The Story
Join multi award-winning photographer Martin Gregus on an expedition into the wild heart of Patagonia, a landscape so vast and untamed it feels like the edge of the world.
This all-inclusive journey takes you deep into a private reserve at Laguna Amarga in Torres del Paine, where you'll track elusive pumas across one of the most dramatic backdrops on Earth. Towering granite peaks, sweeping valleys, and an open sky that seems to go on forever. This is Patagonia at its most raw.
Your expedition begins in Puerto Natales with a welcome dinner hosted by Martin, a chance to meet your fellow travellers and hear firsthand what it's like to spend years photographing the wildlife of this extraordinary place. From there, you travel by private car into Torres del Paine, settling into full-board accommodation that becomes your base for the days ahead.
Over 10 days in the field, Martin will guide you through the art of finding and photographing pumas. Animals that are often misunderstood, always magnificent, and unlike anything most people have ever encountered up close. You'll learn to read the landscape, anticipate wildlife behaviour, and capture it with intention rather than luck.
Evenings bring the day's work to life. Editing sessions and in-depth discussions with Martin and your expedition leader help you understand not just how to photograph Patagonia, but how to tell its story.
Limited to just 8 guests, every part of this expedition is personal. This isn't a tour. It's an immersion.

Will we definitely see pumas?
No, and that honesty matters. Martin is an expert wildlife photographer with deep knowledge of puma behaviour, and the expedition is supported by experienced local trackers who know Torres del Paine's terrain and puma territory intimately. This region has some of the highest wild puma densities on the planet, which is exactly why this expedition exists here. Every decision about where to go and when is made to give the group the best possible chance of an encounter. But wildlife is wild, and no sighting can ever be scripted or guaranteed. That's what makes it real.
What level of fitness is required?
Moderate to good. You'll spend five days trekking across uneven and occasionally steep terrain in Patagonia. The landscape is spectacular and the trekking is the heart of the experience, so arriving with a reasonable base fitness level will make a significant difference to how much you enjoy it. If you plan to carry camera gear, factor in the additional weight when preparing. Get in touch if you have any questions about suitability.
Can I do this trip if I’m not a photographer?
Yes. The expedition focuses on wildlife and landscape - the photography is layered on top, not the foundation. Martin's masterclasses and editing sessions are there for anyone who wants them, but guests who simply want to be in one of the wildest places on earth watching pumas are just as welcome. Bring whatever camera you have, or nothing at all.
Do I need a visa?
Many nationalities can obtain a 90-day tourist visa on arrival in Chile. Check your specific entry requirements here: https://serviciomigraciones.cl/en/permanencia-transitoria-permit/subcategories/tourists/
Is there a single supplement for solo travellers?
Yes. Solo travellers can request a private room for an additional fee. We may also be able to pair solo travellers in shared rooms on a first-come-first-served basis. Contact us for details and availability.
