Self-taught, ocean-obsessed, and on a mission to show the world what lives beneath the surface.
Brooke Pyke wasn't always at home in the ocean. Growing up, the waves intimidated her. Then she tried snorkelling, and everything changed. What was once overwhelming became a playground, a place of endless wonder that pulled her away from graphic design studies and into the water full time.
She became a dive instructor in Thailand and Indonesia, immersing herself in marine conservation and the underwater world. In 2014, she picked up a basic camera and started teaching herself underwater photography. That self-taught beginning led her to Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia, where she now lives and works as a full-time nature photographer.
Brooke's images have earned international recognition, including a major photography prize in 2022, and her work has been featured in Oceanographic Magazine and EzDive. But it's her ability to turn what she sees into stories that sets her apart. Every image carries purpose: celebrate marine life, and fight for its protection.
