Kyle is a ‘Kiwi’ with a passion for adventure travel and storytelling. He grew up on a small sheep farm in the lower North Island but dreamed of life beyond Norsewood. After completing an adventure tourism course in Nelson, Kyle secured his first job; a white water raft guide on the Buller River. He now has almost 20 years experience working in the tourism industry. Working in the tourism industry is what sparked the idea of Kyle’s alter ego, Bare Kiwi, in 2009. To reduce the amount of disposable tourism literature that was being distributed, while helping travellers discover the real New Zealand, Kyle decided he would create short videos that featured him experiencing tourism activities. Unintentionally, Bare Kiwi is now recognised as a global influencer on the adventure travel scene.

I love Christchurch. The city is full of an incredible energy. They have a booming arts scene and one of my favourite things to do is just walk around and explore.
Stony Bay Peak in Akaroa
Watching this sunrise over Akaroa. Such a perfect way to end an epic weekend there. Stoney Bay Peak is a 7.6 kilometer out and back trail located near Akaroa, Canterbury, New Zealand that offers scenic views.
C1 Espresso Cafe
This is my office away from home. I absolutely love this café. The breakfast is epic and you’ll get one of the best coffees in Christchurch here.
Fish n' Chips Akaroa
What's more Kiwi than grabbing some Fish n' Chips and enjoying by the harbour? There's a few great options in Akaroa, but my tip is Murphy's on the Corner. It's better value for money. Just grab them take away and
enjoy by the pier.
A new sustainable concept in travel accommodation in the heart of Christchurch. This is my favourite place to stay while I'm in Christchurch. They have a nice little garden area out the back, and their breakfast
a homemade sustainable spread that is the best way to start the day.
This little town almost feels like New Zealand's version of Aspen. It's got a great mix of adventure activities, with the relaxing springs and plenty of amazing cafes and restaurants.
Hanmer Hot Springs
Take a dip in the famous Hanmer hot springs. There's plenty of spa options if you want to relax, or just hit the public baths which include a cool waterslide area.
3..2..1... SNOW BUNGY!!!! This is how I celebrated a snow day / week here in Hanmer Springs this morning. If you're finding the hot springs a little too relaxing then bungy is definitely the answer to get your heart
Enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Waiau River on this exhilarating adventure activity. Jet through narrow gorges, white water rapids and braided shallows on our thrilling jetboat ride. Experience the 360 degree
spins made famous by the jetboat, first invented in New Zealand!
Abel Tasman National Park
Come and explore my home. I've been guiding people on sea kayaks around Abel Tasman for 16 years now! I'll recommend some of my favourites like sea kayaking, exploring hidden beaches. My favoutire trip in the Abel Tasman: www.abeltasmankayaks.co.nz/guided-tours/three-day-classic/ Also if you want an extreme adventure I highly reccommend :
Abel Tasman Sea Kayaking
This is my personal favourite tip, because I actually work as a guide for Abel Tasman Kayaks so who know you might even end up with me taking you out. You can do single or multiple day guided trips. If you really
want to experience what truly makes Abel Tasman so special then come for a multiple day trip. We'll set up tents on remote beaches and catch some epic sunsets.
Golden Bay Beach
Unique, isolated & utterly charming, Golden Bay is separated from the rest of New Zealand by Takaka Hill which can cause problems for anybody susceptible to carsickness. Whatever the temporary discomfort, the trip
to Golden Bay is always worth it.
Wharariki beach goodness. One of the northern most beaches to explore in Abel Tasman park. You can get there via a pretty nice 20 min walk.
Paddle boarding Marlborough Sounds
Paddle boarding the Marlborough Sounds is a must do. Great fun, great exercise and one of the best ways to explore the area.
Motueka Sunday Market
The Motueka Sunday Market is difficult to clearly define; it is a combination of a farmers market, a craft market, a second-hand market as well a great place to eat, relax and enjoy time with friends and family.
Get your lazy Sunday awesome fix at the Motueka Markets with @chocolateandspice and @lovemotueka. Open 8am - 1pm Sundays
Swim with dolphins in Kaikoura
Kaikoura is one of my favourite places in all of New Zealand. It's got some epic landscapes to explore, sea kayaking, swimming with dolphins and even jumping in a plane and whale watching.
Swim with dolphins
Swim with dolphins. This is in my top 3 things to do in all of the world.
Wings over whales
What better way to see the whales than by jumping in a plane? The crew at wings over whales are the best in the business.
If you’ve seen the video this is where I got slapped in the face by an octopus! Catch up with the local fur seals, blue penguins and dusky dolphins as they duck and dive around the scenic Kaikoura coastline.
Fish n' Chips Kaikoura
Grab some take away Fish n Chips, plus a couple of takeaway beers and you're set for an epic sunset dinner on the beach.
